**FORBES**

3/28/1903 and 3/30/1903, respectively, in the Glens Falls Daily times:


Charles. H. Forbes, aged sixty-one years, died Thursday evening at his home, corner of Lock and Taylor streets, of a complication of diseases. Deceased was a veteran of the Civil war, having served in Company B of the Twenty-second regiment, New York infantry, and Company I of the Sixteenth regiment of New York State heavy artillery. During the last years of his life he was almost totally blind. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Fred Mosher , Sandy Hill; Mrs. Charles N. Smith, Fonda, and Mrs. Edward Weirs, Cleveland, Ohio; and three brothers, Walter, William and James Irving. The funeral will occur from his late home at 3 o' clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. W. H. Groat officiating. Interment will be made in Union cemetery. All veterans are requested to attend at the house at 1:30 and assist in the last sad rites.

**FORBES**
The funeral of Charles H. Forbes, a veteran of th3e Civil war, was largely attended yesterday afternoon at his late home. Interment was made in the family plot in the Union cemtery [sic]. Rev. W. H. Groat officiated. Misses Blanch Betts and Effie McCarg sang. The bearers were David H. King, George Scott, John B. Chase , Henry Snyder, Janes P. Davis, F. B. Vaughn, and twenty veterans attended. Also from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mosher and six children from Sandy Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Charles N. Smith and son from Fonda, N.Y., children and grandchildren of the deceased. OBIT/NOTES: West Hebron-Lillan C. Fowler, 86, died April 23, 2000, at her residence in West Hebron. Born August 5, 1913, in Bayonne, NJ., she was the daughter of James W. and Mary (Bell) Fowler Lillian has been a resident of West Hebron since 1946. She was retired from Sherwood Medical and also retired draftsman from Getty Oil in Bayonne. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister Ann Fowler who died in 1978. Survivors include one brother, George Fowler of Palm Coasst, Fla.; one sister, Mary Magnuson of Las Cruces, N.M.; three nieces and one nephew. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Evergreen Cemetery in Salem with the Rev. Debbie Besse, pastor of the United Methodist Church of West Hebron, officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made in her memory to the SPCA of Upstate New York, P.O. Box 171, Hudson Falls, NY 12839-0171. Arrangements are by McClellan Funeral Service of Salem. Lillian showed grace, charm and superior intelligence through out her life, including her last days.
