THE BAUMES LETTERS


This collection of original letters is being submitted for your enjoyment by John Wilmarth. The Baumes family lived in the Greenwich area of Washington County in the late 1800's. There are several letters written by Oscar Baumes, as well as other family members. Oscar was killed in 1863 at the battle of Chancellorsville. The final letter is from his commanding officer, Alonzo Mason, to his parents. John's email address is wilmarth@yahoo.com.

THE TWIST LETTERS


This collection of some 30 original letters is being submitted for your enjoyment by Scott Hodlmair. The Twist family settled in the White Creek area of Washington County in the late 1700's. Scott is a Twist descendant, and this family treasure was handed down to him. Scott would appreciate hearing from anyone who finds this information useful. His email address is hodlmair@home.com.
