In the name of God, amen. I, Lauchlin Wright, of the Town of Cambridge in the
County of Washington, and State of New York, of the age of Seventy Seven years,
and being of sound mind and memory do make, publish and declare, this my last
Will and Testatment in manner following that is to day.
First, I give and bequeath to my son Morris Lauchlin, my real estate lying and
being in the Towne of Cambridge & Whitecreek consisting of the farm on
which I now reside, containing about one hundred and twenty acres of land,
together with all the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in
any wise appertaining: to have and to hold the premises above described to the
Said Morris L:auchlin, his heirs and assigns forever, upon the following
condition and not otherwise, viz:
(First), the said Morris L. is to pay to my beloved wife Roxanna (should she
survive me) one hundred and forty dollars annually during her natural life, and
also to give and grant to my Said wife Rosanna the same powers, privileges and
rights which are specified to be given and granted to me and my family in an
article of agreement entered into by me and my said son Morris L., dated the
twentieth day of April one thousand eight hundred and forty eight and which is
placed in the hands of Lemuel Sherman, one of the Executors of this instrument.
(Second) The said Morris L. is also to pay within two years after the decease
of my wife Roxanna with interest from the date of her decease, to my Executors
hereinafter named, the sum of four thousand and five hundred dollars.
Second. I give and bequeath the above mentioned four thousand and five hundred
dollars, together with all the rest of my real and personal estate (with the
exception of ten acres of land in New haven, Oswego County, hereinafter
disposed of) after paying my debts and the expenses of executing this
instrument, to my children, David Parks, Elizabeth Bennet, James Harvey,
Walter, Albert, William, Morris L., Julia Sherman, and Sidney W. to be equally
divided between them, share & share alike.
Third. I give and bequeath to my grandchildren, Edwin B., James Harvey and
Jessie Matilda, children of my son James Harvey, all that lot piece or parcel
of land mentioned above lying in the Town of New Haven in the County of Oswego
and State aforesaid containing about ten acres of land with the hereditaments
and appurtenances thereunto belonging and to their heirs and assigns forever.
And I hereby direct my Executors hereinafter named to take charge of Said lot
of land above mentioned, and also the just share of my property which upon such
division as mentioned in my second general bequest which falls to my Son James
Harvey and to deal out the rents, profits and issues thereof and also such part
of the principal in such surety and at such times as my executors hereinafter
named shall deem best for the use, support and benefit of my said son James
Harvey during his natural life, and the residue to be equally divided between
my said grandchildren named above.
And Lastly, I do hereby nominate and appoint my sons Albert Wright and Morris
L. Wright and my son in law Lemuel Sherman to be the Executors of this my last
Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty first day of
April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date thereof Signed,
Sealed, published and declared by the said Lauchlin Wright as and for his last
Will and Testament, in presence of us who at his request and in his presence,
and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses
thereto.
The words "during her natural life" ______ between the twentieth and
twenty first line, on the first page, and the word "tats" between the
nineteen and twentieth lines on the Second page done before execution.

In the matter of proving the last will
and Testament of Lauchlin Wright
last of Cambridge in said County deceased
Washington County ss: Samuel Wells and Sidney Wells, severally of Cambridge
aforesaid, being first duly sworn in open Court severally depose and Say, that
they were acquainted with the above named Lauchlin Wright in his life time: and
that they and each of them were present and saw him ______ his name at the time
of the instrument in writing now produced and exhibited to them, purporting to
be the last Will and Testament of the said deceased bearing date the 21st day
of April S.D. 1848; That the Said deceased at the time of subscribing his name
as aforesaid, published and declared the said instrument to be his last Will
and Testatment in the presence of these deponents and each of them: and these
deponents at the request of the Said deceased, and in his presence and in the
presence of each other, subscribe their names respectively thereto as witnesses
to the execution thereof. That at the time of the Execution thereof, the said
deceased was a citizen of the United States, above the age of twenty one years,
of sound disposing mind and memory, and not under restraint, to the best of the
knowledge, information and belief of these deponents.
